New Instant Band
This is the first new concept in grade 1-2 band music to come along in years. Whether you have problems with rehearsal time, unbalanced instrumentation or unique scheduling, or just want great pieces at this grade level look no further. This series is scored to make rich sounding harmonies possible in the youngest of bands. This is possible because all of the instrumental choirs are scored as trios, complete in themselves. With the addition of a fourth harmony part (that is optional), many of the trios can be expanded to quartets, taking advantage of any of these instruments that may be present in your ensemble. All this plus an optional percussion part.
Does your ensemble meet in like-instruments classes? If so, you can rehearse (or even perform) these arrangements as complete trios/quartets. Is full band regearsal at a premium? When you have the entire ensemble, you have an Instant Band! You can do your own orchestrations of these arrangements. Each arrangement comes with some suggested guidelines, but you can make your own to highlight the stronger sections/players or to support the weaker sections.
